“Became My World”

Became My World began with a few words written on a dating profile years earlier:

“My woman is my world.”

At the time, they were simply words describing what love was supposed to mean. More than five years later, they became the inspiration for a song about the woman who ultimately made them true.

They met during one of the most difficult periods of his life, shortly after a separation and while much of his life was still being rebuilt. She didn't arrive once everything was over. She was there through much of what followed.

That is the meaning behind one of the song's most important ideas:

She wasn't just standing there. She stood by him.

Over the years, she became his best friend, the person he could depend on, and the person who made home feel less like a place and more like someone.

The song eventually returns to their first meeting and asks a simple question: knowing everything that would follow — the good years, the difficult moments, the scars and everything they would experience together — would he still choose her?

The answer is yes.

Somewhere between that first day together, everything they went through, and the life they built afterward, those old words stopped being something written on a profile.

She became his world.
